The History Department at Bristol Metropolitan Academy aims to teach pupils a range of political, economic, social, religious and cultural features from selected periods of British, European and American history. We aim to foster an interest and enthusiasm when studying the past and to highlight the values and uses of history beyond the classroom. We want pupils to enjoy and excel in history through an enquiry based approach in a safe and stimulating environment. A wide variety of teaching strategies, activities and resources are used across all Key Stages to make the teaching of history both stimulating and challenging.
